Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Where She WentIn this sequel to Gayle Forman’s tear-jerker debut novel, If I Stay, it’s Adam’s turn to narrate.  It’s been three years since the tragic accident that took the lives of Mia’s parents and brother.  In that time, Adam and Mia have matured, and the edgier tone of the book reflects their passage into adulthood.  Where If I Stay had sweetness and innocent sadness that middle school readers could devour, Where She Went is for an older audience.  As with most high school sweethearts, Mia and Adam’s paths have diverged.  Musical success has brought him to L.A. and her to New York City.  The abrupt end to their relationship has left Adam undone, which, while good for his songwriting, has left scars that have lasted through the years.  Then, a chance meeting offers a chance at redemption and an opportunity to heal the past.
