It seems that everything I loved when I was in late elementary and middle school (Sweet Valley, Newsies, New Kids on the Block) is coming back. So naturally it's time for the Muppets to make a comeback, and they'll do just that with a new major motion picture The Muppets, this coming Thanksgiving.
While it's true that the Muppets never really left, recent films like Muppets from Space and Muppet Treasure Island can't hold a candle to classics like The Muppet Movie, Muppets Take Manhattan or my personal favorite Jim Henson creation, The Christmas Toy. I'm counting on Jason Segel's creepy yet admirable obsession with puppet musicals to make this a success!
ETA: Um, how did I miss this awesome video?

The Christmas Toy is SOO good! Although Muppet Family Christmas will always be number one for me. Can't wait to see this movie, I have high hopes.
ReplyDeleteUmmm how DID you miss that vid? It is amazing. Also, I feel like a mind-reading genius for hosting a Lady Gaga Muppet party before they even announced this movie. When it comes out on DVD I will totally have another party for DVD viewing and you must come back to NJ just to be there!
ReplyDeleteBest part of that video: the last three seconds!
