Young Adult (the Art Exhibit)

Some days I really feel like I live on the wrong coast.  Usually, it's when I see photos of gorgeous outdoor scenes in Northern California or when my left-coast friends complain about "chilly" temps in the 60s.  Today it's because I've learned about a totally amazing art exhibit that opens on Friday.

Art inspired by young adult literature?  I'm all about it.  If only.

Bookish Buys: Spineless Classics

Every book lover I know has bookcases filled to the brim with their favorite titles.  Many bibliophiles also enjoy framing and displaying their favorite quotes on the wall.  But what if you could hang not just a quote, but the entire book on your wall?  Enter Spineless Classics.

This Australian company puts the entire text of your favorite novel on one artfully designed print.

Bookish Buys: Narnia Travel Poster

Gah!  Seriously?  What is up with me and finding un-buyable bookish things?  I see this lovely poster on Pinterest and then I click through to get to the seller's Etsy page, and BAM! Print's sold. Shop's closed.

To be fair, the seller wants to come back and sell, but she's temporarily closed her doors while she seeks a cost-efficient way to print and ship to her American customers (as she is in Australia).  I hope cedarMyna gets it all figured out soon so I can get my Narnia on.  And how!

Bookish Buys: Vintage Library Posters

You already know that I'm a sucker for anything library and/or book related.   Re-imagined books covers? Check! Birds on books? Check! And now I've come across vintage library posters? Check, please!

So, okay.  I don't actually know yet where one can buy said posters, which makes them less of a "bookish buy" and more of a "bookish lust" type item.  But it must be an option to buy such things somewhere, right?  I have got to get me some of those with the "Visit Your School Library" tagline.  I must research their origin and find the legal, copyright respectful* way to make those prints mine.

* Because if there's one thing that gets my back up, it's people who don't respect copyright.  Someone worked hard to create something. Respect their craft!
